Q. What is meant by in-house resident scholarship? A. The $1,000 housing scholarship requires you to live in the Delta Theta Sigma Scholarship House for one academic year and is applied to your fourth quarter bill. The recipient is under no obligation to join or participate in any organization activities. Q. If I receive an in-house resident scholarship, am I required to accept it? A. No. Although it is our hope that everyone who receives a scholarship will choose to accept it, you are under no obligation of any kind. If you receive a scholarship you are encouraged to visit the Delta Theta Sigma Scholarship House to determine if it is right for you. Q. Am I required to move into the Delta Theta Sigma Scholarship House to be eligible for the academic scholarship? A. No. Housing choice will not be considered during the academic scholarship review process. Q. How many non-members live in the house? A. At any given time there are between 5 and 10 non-members renting rooms. Some "renters" choose to become members; however, they are under no obligation to do so. Q. How does the Delta Theta Sigma Scholarship House cost compare to other housing on campus? A. See Table Below
Q. Will I have a roommate? A. Most likely yes, but double rooms are bigger than the average dorm room. Q. What amenities are included? A. Everything you need is included at no extra charge.
Q. How does the food plan work? A. Our full time chef prepares two meals per day Monday through Friday. Breakfast items are provided but are not prepared. Leftovers are available at any time including the weekend. Residents have access to the kitchen and cooking utensils to prepare their own food if they wish. Q. You are a fraternity. Are women renters allowed? A. Yes, we do have rooms for women available for the 2008-2009 school year. We currently have seven women living in the house. Q. I am the parent of a high school senior. I have concerns about my son or daughter moving into the Delta Theta Sigma Scholarship House. How do I find out more information? A. We understand that you may have a variety of concerns that you want to address. We encourage your son or daughter to apply for the scholarship. You are encouraged to attend an open house with your son or daughter. Remember that your son or daughter can always choose to decline the scholarship. They will still be eligible for the academic scholarship awarded in Fall 2008. |
